"César Ritz Colleges doesn’t simply provide students with academic knowledge, it also prepares us for the operational side of the industry through practical classes and internships.

I discovered my passion for Food & Beverage during my second internship, when I was trained as a bar manager for the Underground Bar & Nightclub at Le Bouveret campus. This is where I discovered my love for bartending and the beverage side of F&B.

Upon completion of my Higher Diploma, I was offered an F&B Management training programme role with the Fairmont Zimbali Lodge & Resort in South Africa.

There, I was taught how to lead a restaurant team with a focus on training and development, as well as assist in creating signature cocktails for the various resort outlets.

I then transferred to the Fairmont Dubai as F&B Supervisor for the allday dining restaurant where I am now responsible for the daily operations as well as participating in weekly/monthly training sessions for colleagues and assisting other outlets in their operations.

The highlight of my career was definitely competing in the World Class bartending competition in South Africa. I didn’t win but it was definitely an eye opener in terms of how far bartending & mixology have evolved over the years.

From my time at César Ritz Colleges, I took with me the friends I made not only with fellow students but with the staff as well, which is a reminder that César Ritz is truly a home away from home.

To aspiring hoteliers, my advice is: 'Seize every opportunity to learn new ideas and concepts as this is what allows us to grow professionally'."
