"When I didn't get accepted into Art School in my home town of Munich, I had to find something interesting to keep myself busy. Knowing that I have a passion for languages, people, cultures, good service and "beautiful things in life", I decided to go for a 5 months internship at one of the top hotels in town, the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski. I ended up living my passion to the fullest and never made it into Art School. The rest is history… I felt that I needed to backup my practical skills with deeper theory knowledge and that's how my Swiss journey started.
After graduation, I worked in Reservations for a year at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, which naturally led me to the position of Account Executive with the London regional sales office for the Leading Hotels of the World. I was then promoted to Account Manager Entertainment & Niche Markets before moving to the new hot spot in town, the Bulgari Hotel & Residences London as part of their pre-opening team. The next move led me to this current position with the Ritz Hotel Paris.
One of the most valuable skills I acquired at the school was the ability to work, understand and deal with people from different background and cultures. This is a highly people driven industry and the international student body at César Ritz Colleges was a true asset for the rest of my career.
Studying hospitality is an education for life and is a good mix of theoretical, practical and social skills needed to succeed in this industry and beyond. I like the saying "you have to be in it to win it".
I love the career path I chose because I deal with people from different backgrounds, I live in an international environment and I'm able to travel and represent brands I believe in."
