César Ritz Colleges is committed to advancing sustainability across multiple dimensions - environmental, social, and economic. Sustainability is integrated into our educational approach, campus operations, and student life. The College has a Sustainability Plan that empower our community to adopt responsible practices and contribute to a more sustainable future. By focusing on key priority areas, we drive impactful initiatives that strengthen our contribution to the hospitality business industry, society, and the environment.
By 2030, César Ritz Colleges aims to embed environmental sustainability into teaching, campus operations, and student life. As a small, close-knit college, we recognize that meaningful change happens through everyday choices, shared responsibility, and practical action. We empower our community to reduce food waste, improve waste separation, and adopt more sustainable practices in daily campus life. Ongoing campus improvements include investing in energy- and water-efficient equipment and infrastructure, as well as expanding charging facilities for e-bikes, e-scooters, and other forms of sustainable transportation.
At César Ritz Colleges, social sustainability is built on a commitment to wellbeing, inclusion, fair working conditions, and responsible institutional practices. We foster a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students, faculty, and staff through strong health and safety standards, professional development opportunities, transparent governance, and open dialogue. Together, these efforts create a positive learning and working environment where everyone can thrive.
César Ritz Colleges has successfully operated for more than 40 years, demonstrating its long-term economic sustainability. For the college, economic sustainability means managing resources responsibly to ensure financial resilience and the continued delivery of high-quality education. Through effective sales training, a strong brand identity, prudent resource management, scholarship opportunities, and investments in sustainable infrastructure, we strengthen our ability to support students, enhance our campus, and fulfil our educational mission for future generations.
Our Sustainability Plan 2024-2030 aligns with internationally recognised Green Globe standards for the hospitality and tourism sector, providing a framework to measure progress and support continuous improvement. The Green Globe Committee, comprising representatives from academic and operational departments, oversees the implementation of the Plan and promotes sustainability initiatives across the institution.
From tourism, for tourism. This principle is at the heart of Swisstainable, Switzerland's national sustainability programme for tourism. More than just a certification, Swisstainable is a movement that brings together the entire tourism industry to promote sustainable development. Today, more than 2,200 tourism businesses participate in the programme.
César Ritz Colleges is proud to have achieved Swisstainable Level III – Leading, recognising our strong commitment to sustainability and the continuous integration of sustainable practices across our institution.
