Academics4th International Research Conference shines spotlight on wellness in hospitality

More than 100 professionals, lecturers, students and academic partners joined together at César Ritz Colleges Brig to share their research results under the theme of Wellness in Hospitality.

According to the Global Wellness Institute, wellness tourism is one of the fastest growing tourism segments in the world with a growth rate doubling overall tourism spending at 6.9%. Every year more consumers are seeking higher levels of wellbeing and are incorporating these intentions into their travels. César Ritz Colleges brings wellness into its academic programmes by focusing on health, nutrition and ethics in business.

The event was the perfect setting to welcome home, alumna Belgin Aksoy Berkin, founder of Global Wellness Day as the keynote speaker. In 2016, the Global Wellness Institute awarded Mrs Berkin the “Leading Woman in Wellness” award, the most prestigious award in the spa and wellness industry. During the conference, she elegantly spoke about the importance of health and wellbeing in our daily lives while connecting with the growing expectations of customers in the hospitality industry.
