History

The school was founded in 1982 by Dr. Wolfgang D. Petri in Brig
In 1985, the university introduced the first Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management in Switzerland, in partnership with Washington State University
In 1986, the university officially adopted the name César Ritz Colleges with recognition from the César Ritz Foundation.
In 2005, César Ritz Colleges became the first Swiss hotel management school to receive accreditation from EduQua, the accrediting body of the World Tourism Organization.
In 2023, César Ritz Colleges Switzerland was federally accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Council to be a University of Applied Sciences Institute.
